SILA Programs

Activities supports youth empowerment, outdoor awareness, and competency while at the same time encouraging team and self reliance. Each Sila experience will offer youth the opportunity to develop motivation in the outdoor environment thereby building self esteem.

Through outdoor activities, Benoit supports youth facing challenges by helping them build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging. By playing outside, learning new skills, and connecting with nature, they gain valuable experiences that foster personal growth and well-being.

Dressing for the Arctic

In the Arctic, there’s no such thing as bad weather—only bad clothing. Our Dress Code Color Guide is a practical resource to help you gear up properly and fully enjoy outdoor activities, even in extreme cold.


The layering system is essential for adapting to harsh weather conditions.

Base Layer

Synthetic or merino wool clothing to wick away moisture.


Mid Layer

Insulating (fleece, lightweight down) to retain body heat.


Outer Layer

Protective against wind and moisture (parka, winter jacket).


Essential Accessories

Toques, mittens, insulated boots, and protective eyewear are essential for staying warm and safe.
